100 Bullets
Written by Brian Azzarello. Art by Eduardo Risso.
A briefcase offers proof, a gun and the chance for revenge.
Overview
Agent Graves approaches people who have been wronged and offers them an untraceable weapon and ammunition. Azzarello and Risso launched 100 Bullets in 1999, then expanded that provocation into a far-reaching crime conspiracy.
Why It Matters
The opening bargain makes every recipient reveal something about themselves. As the larger design emerges, individual revenge stories gain a second meaning.
Genre & Themes
Hardboiled crime and conspiracy fiction meet in a world governed by manipulation and unequal power.
Art & Visual Identity
Risso’s angular figures and heavy shadows make crowded scenes feel tense and morally unstable.
