Sisco
Written by Benec. Art by Thomas Legrain.
A state enforcer becomes vulnerable when his work is caught on camera.
Overview
Sisco handles politically convenient killings in secrecy. In the opening album, a witness films one assignment, turning a routine suppression into a threat to those who ordered it. Benec and Legrain launched the series in 2010.
Why It Matters
The thriller works because the protagonist knows the machinery of cover-ups from inside. Once exposed, he cannot assume that the state will protect its own agent.
Genre & Themes
Political noir and assassination thriller focus on reason-of-state violence and its fragile deniability.
Art & Visual Identity
Legrain’s carefully rendered offices and urban action make the political apparatus feel immediate rather than abstract.
